I thought Lady Frankenstein was already on here. Anyway, it's published by PD houses like Alpha and Mill Creek. GATT provides that if the movie was originally released outside the US and not in the US within the next 30 days then it is GATT eligible unless the copyright holders are all American. If memory serves me correctly in italy the copyright holders are Director, Screenwriter and Soundtrack author. This movie was originally released in Italy and the Director and screenwriter look to be American, but the soundtrack writer appears to be Italian (just guessing from the information on IMDB). If they are all American then it's not GATT eligible. But even one is not, then if it was an American production and they signed a work for hire contract then they don't hold copyright and it would still not be GATT eligible. It's probably not possible to say from the easily accessible publically available information, but I think this movie is generally treated as PD.

If you do a google search you can find widescreen versions on ebay and amazon. I think the German dub is not PD, but no problem with the visual part if you take out the Germans.
